Elbert "Pony" Maples is the one wearing shorts. He is talking to Hank Shutzbier, our radio operator. The only other person I recognize in the photo, besides Ferd, is Chuck Reedy, the Pacific Missile Range station director for Tern Island. He is just to the left, behind Hank.
